The camera scans the façades of buidings. The buildings are post-war, the tiles standard: the colours mainly drab, the patterns simple, occasionally a decorative frieze, possibly a hammer and sicle. The voice speaks of the decrees that changed the faces of Soviet archiechture, the factories that produced the tiles in Kiev, Ukraine, a prisoner of war transported to Germany, unearthing The World as Will and Representation, returning to Kiev with a mission, unknown except to a close circle or artists and intellectuals deeply immersed under the uniform surface of Soviet doctrine.
