Hast ein Kaiser. Bist ein Kaiser (If you
have a Kaiser, you are an emperor)
by Marlene Haring, 2005
installation on the occasion of a group show at the Kunstpavillon
Innsbruck: beer tent, 8 tables, 8 table cloths, 8 glases with sand
and candles, 1 bar, 100 litres of Kaiser beer, 8 ashtrays, 100 elegant
beer glases, blackboard, drinkers, Hofgarten
A beer tent — looking surprisingly similar to the Kunstpavillon
— was put opposite the gallery space located in the Hofgarten in
Innsbruck. On the occasion of the opening
at the Kunstpavillon, Kaiser (emperor) beer was served in a suitable
atmosphere. The tent was cleared out in the end of the evening
and remained as an empty white shell where it stood for a few
days.
